For the summer season, the YMCA of the Wabash Valley is gearing up for big fun in the sun! This Saturday, June 9th the nonprofit organization is hosting a free Community Appreciation Day party in Vigo County from 10am-12pm. The event will feature brunch sponsored by IHOP including pancakes, juice and coffee. There will be activities for all ages including water play and crafts for area youth, outdoor sports such as volleyball, group exercise classes, and more to thank the community for their support of the Y.
This event will also be one of the last opportunities for returning or new members to sign up for a membership at the Y and save the $50 join fee. With a membership to the YMCA, individuals and families have access to facilities in both Clay and Vigo County. At the Y, surrounded by friends as well as by caring, knowledgeable staff, members can nurture their spirit, mind and body in ways never imagined. For more information, visit www.claycountyymca.org or www.vigocountyymca.org.
As a YMCA member, individuals and families receive discounts to all Y programs, including summer camp which recently launched at both branches. Camp gives community youth a fun, exciting summer while focusing on academic enrichment, physical activity, and healthy eating for children entering into kindergarten through eighth grade. This will be the Best Summer Ever with character building team activities, crafts, field trips, swimming and STEAM learning. A healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served each day, and is included in the program fees. Thank you to camp sponsors KEMPER CPA, Griffin Bike Park and Sweet Science.
